Rooted Vizio Google Market

I successfully rooted my Vtab last night! Was working on trying to open up the full Google Market but I was not able to. I watched a video on youtube and followed the steps to no avail. Was anyone able to figure this out?

What do you mean by "open up the full Google Market"?

You mean getting apps to show up that don't normally for the VTAB?

Yes. Exactly. The market has several Apps I cannot see. Would like to unlock now that I have root access.

Your VTAB is identified by a “fingerprint” that is stored in a file. You can change the way the market sees your it by editing this string. This article will help you understand how to change the fingerprint. This post at XDA shows an example changing the fingerprint on a Dell Streak.

The file is build.prop and you will need to edit the fingerprint to another value. There are other factors that determine which apps show up including the DPI of the screen so just changing the fingerprint may not get the app you want to show up.

Check out the dev sites for the apps you want you may find some of them available as downloads.

Since they don't use the same methods as Google also check the Amazon AppStore.

I have attached the build.prop from the VTAB for you to refer to.
