The only way I've been able to get my Chuwi V9 rooted, has been by making a modified firmware image manually (in a Linux virtual machine). It takes a bit of work to get set up, especially if you're not experienced in Linux/Android.

It's not really complicated though. Are you using a 2.3 or 4.0 firmware?

    Chuwi V9 (single core)
    Hi Pelican

I've just joined the forums and am hoping you are still active on them. I have a Chuwi V9 (single core) which I would like to root. I see you have done so, so would appreciate your help. The V9 runs 4.0.3 and has USB OTG (pen drive functionality). I want to activate USB audio hence would like to root the tablet. Could you tell me how to do it? Is there any way I could get that functionality. Its available in 4.1.1 (jelly bean), but Chuwi does not have updates for the single core V9 and does not have audio options on the 4.0.3. Hoping to hear from you.

p.s. I have no idea about linux/android software tweaks
