I'm a bit new to the whole rooting thing, and I'm wondering if someone can get me a guide to rooting my Generic Freescale IMX515 8″ Android Tablet? Thanks!

If you look under the stickies for the general Q&A section this is covered in detail. Do you have a working market? If so, install z4root and run that.

z4root doesn't work for my device, I ran it and after it restarted it, I tried running a cpu overclocking app and it said I was not rooted, I tried z4root multiple times. Are there any other alternative ways to root?

    UniversalAndroot might be an option

Unfortunately that gives me the error message "Failed ! No ~~~ Fu goo ~~~" and I have no idea what thats supposed to mean and I've searched around the internet and haven't found any way around it.

EDIT: Turns out I installed an old version of z4root, worked perfectly after I fixed it. Thanks!
