This particular bit of info flies in the face of our previous report, but is just plausible enough to be worth sharing. According to new sources, the next Nexus 10 Android tablet will not be made by Samsung, but will instead be an Asus-made product. Additionally, this same source confirmed that the tablet will be coming out later on this year, just in time for the holidays, and will come to both the Google Play Store and Best Buy.

It's difficult to really buy this intel because the previous report seemingly came straight from Google's own Sundar Pichai, straight to Amir Efrati of the Wall Street Journal. Of course, it is possible that Mr. Pichai said a Nexus 10 was coming and that Mr. Efrati simply assumed it was coming from Samsung again. Of course, we can't/shouldn't assume that, so for now this will file squarely in the "highly unlikely yet still possible" section of the filing cabinet.

What do you guys think? Would you be more apt to buy a Nexus 10 made by Asus over Samsung, or does it really matter much to you who makes it?

Google’s Nexus program is always a swirling abyss of different rumors before the devices actually come out. Now with the Nexus 10 coming due for a refresh, we’re back to that same game. Geek.com is now also reporting that this year’s Nexus 10 will be manufactured by ASUS. While ASUS would probably be up to the challenge of creating the Nexus 10, this rumor might not be true. It seems that Samsung has already grabbed that spot. We’ll have to see how it all pans out. Whoever makes it, I’d say focus on reducing the price to improve sales. Get that sucker down to $299 for the 16 GB and $349 for the 32GB and I think you’ll have a smash hit.

It is now rumored that the Nexus 10 2 release date will coincide with the upcoming iteration of Google's mobile operating system, the Android 4.4 KitKat.
Even though Google is not yet confirming the exact Nexus 10 2 release date rumors, it is already expected that the next-gen tablet will arrive soon. Hinting about the Nexus 10 2 release date, Emir Efrait of The Wall Street Journal posted a tweet which says, "Expect to see new 10-inch Nexus 10 Android tablet (made by @Samsung) in the near future, Google's @sundarpichai tells me."
Aside from a specific Nexus 10 2 release date, tech enthusiasts and Android fans are also excited to know more about the official specs of the forthcoming Google gadget. According to reports, the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] gen 10-inch Nexus 10 may be equipped with a 1080p HD touchscreen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU and a 4 GB of RAM. Consumers may probably have 2 options for the Nexus 10 2 storage capacity, either the 32 GB or the 64 GB.
Expect more news about Nexus 10 2 release date in the coming days and weeks.
