Just a few days ago we shared the official announcement that Best Buy would be launching their own 9.7-inch Android tablet called the Insignia Flex. Today we have a rumor regarding the pricing and availability of the device. According to the intel, the Insignia Flex will hit Best Buy store shelves on November 11th and cost somewhere between $239-$259. The source of this info is a report from Reuters, which typically has a good track record for reliability. Here's a quote with some more info,

Best Buy's in-house brand Insignia shared details of the new tablet on its Facebook page late last week, but has so far kept silent on the price tag, a crucial weapon on the intensifying tablet and mobile device battlefield.

Best Buy has used its in-house brand in the past to cater to customers looking for less expensive versions of everything from high-definition TVs to Blu-ray players.

The Insignia Flex will hit stores on November 11 and be sold only at Best Buy, the source said on condition of anonymity because the details were not yet public.

If accurate, this price could be fairly competitive. Could Best Buy's tablet create any ripples any the Android market?

Since it's a 9.7" IPS display, it comes to mind this could be a re-badged Le Pan or Matsunichi tablet.

LP just launched their lower costed Le Pan S, and it's priced at $229 at welmart.com. Even colours like pink and purple, for those that enjoy them. White and plain black for more conservative tastes.

Seens this in another site, and immediately thought it could be a Le Pan. They do sell their tablets at BB as well.

Other than that, the price is not attractive enough to buy a no-name, who's going to support this, device. Le Pan itself is pretty slow at delivering promised updates and upgrades.
