Running application

Is there anyone who can tell me how to stop a running APPLICATION

The markets are full of app killer and battery saver apps designed to do just that.

you can also force stop a app from settings,
settings/applications

Thanks I found a few, free, applications that seem doing the job quite well.
But it is amazing that Android it self do not have a such facility, similar to the one we can find on Apple Phone (may be to simple....)

To stop app from running go into apps ( top right of screen ). Long press app you want to stop and slide it up to information button top right. This will open panel allowing you to force close app.
