Hi,

As i stated in the gingerbread thread,
This thread is for dumps from standard roms.
Please post your dumps
with
FIRMWARE VERSION
and
TELECOMS PROVIDER

You need to dump /bin /lib /etc
they are under /system

This should be much of a help to work out the fine differences between the two.
Helping mine and Rictec's respective works on the new kernel and gingerbread.

Do you really need the dumps or it be ok just to unpack the updata packaging, because I do have a few of them in my laptop and it will be very easy for me to help you with these.

the point of this is getting "real live" machine files not uncompress those cos thats a pain and can be with error
so use something like:< busybox tar -czvf /sdcard/lib.tar.gz * > after cd to lib dir to get all libs and etc and bin

we need to compare real machines not mobile operator machines ;)

New request in,
If anyone can dump the new 2.2.2 images from their system,
i.e. CWM, dump boot.img and system.img
and if possible dump the /proc/config.gz (could get it myself if i have the boot.img and system.img, but i'm quite lazy.
It would hopefully progress our Gingerbread efforts a large amount (especially by having a newer kernel and userland to look into porting perhaps the 2.2.2 kernel to gingerbread userland ;))
Secondary to this; it wouldn't be a hard task to release our own re-packaged update.zip; earlier then huawei's lazy release schedule :p.

you can get it her

ok guys. here is my progress

adb remount > failed : operation not permitted
adb shell > $ (it seems i don't have adb root)

however, i can put busybox and dump_image to /system/bin using root explorer.
and i can use terminal emulator from my s7 to dump boot and system.

somehow my upload to multiupload always interrupted and failed.

i've uploaded to mediafire.

here is the link : froyo_dump.zip

Here it is the config.gz from working 2.2.2
Just delete the zip termination.

If someone could nab the baseband? I want to take a look at it. It seems like 850mhz is being spotty and I want to see if it's fixable.

phoenix: I would also like to take a look at the baseband, as there was some unimplemented parts of the UMTS spec in the previous baseband that i want to hope have been fixed.
(CSS is one... sigh...).
Let me know if you get a dump of it.
