Samba Filesharing

Great little app.
Installs Samba server on Android devices/
Lets you see all your Android devices from the Windows machine as if they were just shared drives.
Requires root access.

One more reason to root I guess.

Now, if you install development version xda-developers - View Single Post - [solved - work in progress][APP] Samba Server for Android you will be able to establish Android to Android connection.

This is one of the apps that I install on all my devices. It has always worked great for me.

Yes - Samba filesharing requires root.

If you want to copy files to your VTAB over WiFi without root you can use ES File Explorer or many other apps on the market.

With Samba you device's storage space is mounted as a drive on your PC's system. With ES and other apps you access you PC from the app on your device.

Working on a 24 inch monitor beats the VTAB's 8 inch screen.

BTW - Samba filesharing can mount the internal user memory and the external SD Card as two different drive letters.
