SD card unmounted or not present

Ok my guess is many have seen this before... it is making me crazy though, I keep getting the message!

I formatted the card, I have used it regularly, but every other or third time I use the tablet the system cannot find the card!

Is there a trick, a way to help this maintain a connection? I feel like the issue is related to the terminals and mating into the drive... maybe I am wrong

I have very little experience using a micro sd card regularly, every device in the past involved a single installation and forget it but this tablet has the card slot exterior mounted and I have to trsfr files via the card.

any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I use a MacBookPro and I have no windows environments available.

I tried reading the disk in my computer and it was not accessible, so I had to format the card again...hopefully this will be the last time.
