I accientally used different AC adapter for the ZEPAD.
Polarity was different than in the original version. So the device died.

Does anyone have any info if there's a fuse or something or do I have now like 10" brick.

I opened up the tablet.
Near the charger plug there's component number U15.
Can anyone give me the information of the comp.
It burned so badly that I can't read the text on the top of it.

So that's at least what has burnt. If it's a commercial chip I try to change it and see what happens.

I found that the U15 is EUTECH EUP8057, I try to order for some samples.
I noticed that also D3 just next to the J3 (charger connector) is burnt.
Could someone give any info about that component?

the text on D3 is S3M, this is a common diode between + and - from the poweradapter used the protect the circuit against reverse polatity.

I'll try to change that diode.
Still it seems to me that it didn't protect anything... I think the charging chip is also burnt :(

I had no luck getting any samples of EUTECH EUP8057. So if this asic is burnt and I can't get repair parts, then the tablet is non-usable... too bad

I finally got some EUTECH EUP8057 in MSOP8 boxing.
Soldered the new chip in to place and voila!
I didn't replace the burnt diode yet. Seems to be working now.
I have to be careful with the charger until I get the diode in place.
