I have loaded Skype up and I am a paid service subscriber which gives me the ability to call any landline in North America. I use it extensively on my other equipment. I tried to use on A500 but was told the sound was terrible on receiving end ( the built in Mic ). I know there is a slot on the side for headphones but have not been able to find any slot/port for a mic. I have quite a few headsets with mics.
Can Antone suggest how I can hook up a Michael to the A500
    Thanks Dave

Almost everyone has a problem with the built in mic. Its volume is set so low that the other end can't hear you. There appear to be some dissenting opinion by some people, but 99.44% of A500 users agree the internal mic sucks.

If you do the Voice test in Skype, it attempts to adjust for this, and it almost works.

Any Smartphone earbud headset should work, because they all have a built in mic. But again, with the master-mic volume set in andorid software to a very low level, and no way to change this, the experience on this version of the software is pretty poor.
