I've enabled for side loading apps, and gone to the archive link for flash for android and installed but it doesn't run when I try to play a video someone has linked to.

How do you get them to work?

    What browser are you using?

Chrome does not play Flash. Dolphin Browser does not work with Flash on JB.

    Try Boat Browser of Firefox.

Also be sure you have the add on enabled to play content in the settings.

Are you using Dolphin Browser or Dolphin for Tabs?

Dolphin Browser (since August) has this shown in the settings:

    Another solution:

    1. get the last available flash APK for Android (google for it).
    2. install it.
    3. Find and get the Firefox beta. You will get a beta installer, and it will install FF.
    4. Enjoy flash on websites using FF
