Sony Tablet S turns off WiFi with screen, even with changed disconnect policy

The title pretty much says it all. I have changed the WiFi disconnect policy to 'never.' I have 'soft' restarted it, and shut it down completly. No matter what I do the WiFi cuts out, and restarts when the screen turns back on.

Any suggestions that I can try would be greatly apreciated.

This forum is magic. I worked with two tech folks at Sony, and nothing worked. I replied here, did a hard restart, and presto!

So far my impression of android is that it is a bit glitchy. This is the third gremlin I have had to work out. This is the first of the three that I have solved. The other two: can't get 2 tb external to read (yes, fat32), and when I set the market to auto make an icon on the homepage the icon just takes you back to the market.

Can you please explain what the fix is exactly? What do you mean by "hard restart"? I'm having the same issue.

Thanks

The only workaround I was able to find was installing the "Advanced Wifi Lock Free" app. This is apparently a known bug.
