So work just purchased a XYboard to replace my laptop.

Kind of cool but for the life of me I cannot find a Office type app which has spell check.

Is there one and if not how are your guys using the Office apps with out a spell check option?

There is one, Android Office: https://market.android.com/details?id=sibling.android.Office It has spell check.

For remote desktop I have 2 suggestions depending on what you are trying to do. If the PC has RDC available, you can try the app 2X. Works great, but video compression is not that good so streaming videos to your tablet even at home is not great.

If you plan to stream videos, Splashtop or Splashtop HD is the best. I can watch 1080p content played through Windows Media Center on my tablet with no issues while at home. You just need to install the splashtop streamer on the PC or Mac and then grab the app on your tablet.
