SuperPad 3 and Square Credit Card Processing App

I am using SuperPad 3, Model number Android Tab10, Android V2.3 2011-09-01 (001112), Kernel Version 2.6.32.9, Build Number FRF85B

The Square App does not show in Market, but i found an APK downloaded and got it to install. But the headphone adapter/toggle will not get recognized. Square says 2.1 android and newer with a 3.55 mm headset adapter should work. Is it possible this headset port is not 3.55mm or is an adapter instead of the proper type?

Or is this something that an update could fix? Ideas?

Ok there are some discussions regarding the "recessed" 3.55 port and that perhaps the 3 ringed tongle isnt getting connected properly. I tested a couple extension adapters and still couldnt get it to work. Im wondering if the fact that tongle has that third ring for microphone in doesnt play well with the device and thus unrecognized.

Or it could still be the APP just doesnt support this device.
