Hopefully it's hackable and I can install Google Market on it. If not, at least Amazon's... :p

The Sylvania tablet's are all based on the same underlying code from infoTMIC so the same challenges experienced on the 7" may exist on the 10" including the approach to a working Market, WiFi dropouts, auto-rotation, Flash but as you state "hopefully" it might come refurb'd with an updated firmware.

Three update files have been identified for the "hwver=11.6.3.1" and while the seem similar there is some difference in the userdata.img and system.img. The newest "beta4", has just been posted so there are no reports yet on any improvements.

Code:
Hardware ID InfoTM update wrap(*.ius) FileNum: U0 U0 UBOOT RD LK ADR_USER ADR_AS
"hwver" Firmware Version u-boot-nand.bin RAMDISK KERNEL USER SYSTEM
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sylvania 10" SYTAB10MT(SYNET10LP)
11.6.3.1 0106rd_11.6.3.1.2.0_beta3.ius 11.6.3.1.2.0 2009.08-svn678 (Mar 14 2015 - 09:59:41) 270.5 KB NA 195.5 KB 2617.5 KB 8.5 KB 55639.5 KB
11.6.3.1 wwe10_11.6.1.5.2.0_beta3.ius 11.6.3.1.2.0 2009.08-svn678 (Mar 14 2015 - 09:55:48) 270.5 KB NA 195.5 KB 2617.5 KB 4.5 KB 55699 KB
11.6.3.1 11.6.3.1.2.0_beta4_0523.ius

Note: One of the update while found for hwver=11.6.3.1, the file name includes 11.6.1.5. This is attributed to the lack of naming nomenclature by infoTM.

Verify which features are working out of the box - WiFi, auto-rotation, Flash, "three finger" factory reset, etc.
Then identify the "hwver" and Version "ro.versioncode" on the Update screen prior to attempting an automatic update.

Post us on the progress.

PS. The original devices had the same issues at the EX7 where the box stated one Model number and under Device info it stated another model. This is because the "Model number" was hard coded in to the Settings.apk. Don't let that confuse you upon receipt.

PSS. Also, it states 2.1 but on the Amazon and J&R sites users reported the device was shipped with 2.2 however, no idea if it "official" 2.2 versus the "beta" updates found above.

Wow...if only I had known in time!

Just picked up the real 10" Sylvania tablet for $220 a few weeks ago.
