Tablet Apps for text messaging

Does something like that exist? An app that would let me text message like like a phone from my tablet? Or is that just an instant messenger???

I'm so new with my tablet and Android in general I get totally lost in the Adroid Market and the terms used. Like, I haven't even figures out what is honeycomb, ice cream sandwich, peanut butter sandwich, etc! lol

Actually there is a good free app om the market, I think it is called Text+, it gives you a phone number so people can reply to you. I haven't used it myself but people I know say it's great.

Google voice lets you text. Thats what I use
