Hi - just got a Commtiva N700 - using giffgaff as my sim card - can't find any info about what happens if I go to France and use it? I assume wifi is fine - but could I use my giffgaff sim for 3G?
As you see, I'm not very techie
cheers

Is giffgaff your 3G provider? I would go to your 3G providers website and check out the details for the plan that you are on. Most of the time international 3G is very expensive.

Assuming you are in the US, your 3G almost certainly won't work without registering the device (buying a data plan) through a local service provider. If it does connect, expect a huge international roaming bill when you get home. most of the US uses CDMA or TDMA. Most of Europe uses GSM. So there's a good chance that roaming won't even work with buying a local plan. WiFi should work just fine.
Another consideration is to make sure your charger can handle dual voltage. Most do these days for electronics at least. If it does, you'll need a plug adapter. If it only handles 120V, you'll need a voltage converter too
