Telefunken wifi

Hi - I have a Telefunken TEL7j which won't connect to the internet. I have set up the wifi connection and it shows connected in the tool bar. I noticed however that just to the right of the wifi connection symbol is another symbol with bars and a small x ( on my work comp this usually means I'm connected to the internet ) Anyway when I click on the browser is says no connection avail. I need help !!
