TF300T Microphone not working

I have just purchased TF300T and allowed it to immediately update to 4.2.1.

However I cannot get the microphone to hear me.

Various comments around the web suggest that this is a problem related to the 4.2 update.

Can anyone help me with a fix please.

Problems can crop up after an update. The best suggestion I have is to do a factory reset. Use the App Backup app first and store it off the tablet somewhere. It will also delete any data so copy it somewhere too,
