Transferring PDFs or books loaded on Desktop to Tablet!!

So I have a samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1, Which I love and think blows anything out of the water. Anyway thats opinionated and I won't go into that,.

But basically I was given certain files from professors as textbooks. Now I want these files on my tablet in order to be able to use it as a textbook.

So how do I load PDF files or eBook files from my desktop to my tablet, while maintaining the aesthic nature of the tablet. Also what app would allow me to view these files..

Copying them to a usb drive and use pdf to go to read them. It is part of documents to go.
