just got a new Hisense (Sero 7) and I trying to add my regular email account. Got my gmail account added and my yahoo account but my regular email won't add; it's a pop3 account and everything looks good on the incoming server settings but when I hit next a box pops up saying the it couldn't finish-couldn't open connection to server. do I need to contact my server to set it up?? or is there something else I should be doing??
When we got my husband's Nook last year I didn't have any problem setting my email up on that, as well as his yahoo account..
    thanks
    Pam

    Welcome Pam

What you're describing sounds like the SMTP security or port number. (that's the outbound side) The standard port is 25 but that frequently doesn't work, especially if you are not attached to the (mail) provider's network. Port 587 may work but it may require more than that.

I would do a search for the following words. "SMTP settings (your mail provider)"
