Trying to Identify Kernel, Possible Overclocking Possibilities for DM7022 Radio

My understanding of the letter suffix on DM-7035 models is the type of TV tuner installed in the head unit.

The original ES-666A/DM-7022 & ES-777A/DM7033 were mostly/all(?) sold with analog tuner.

EDIT: I looked it up TV Function:

A = Built-in TV tuner (SuperAllWrite), B = CMMB / DVB-T(optional) and C = standard digital TV(optional)

thats odd... add says its analog tv tuner, but as what you pulled up it is digital.. one of these days ill pull the head unit out and hook up an antenna to see if it will pick anything up.

Ive tried every custom cwm recovery i could find with no success. Still only thing it does is ether boot loop or jump right into fastboot.

Avocadopicker, App crashing is NORMAL on these devices, sadly. I think it has a bad kernel and running android 2.3, seems to be a problem for stability.

So I am trying (desperately) to find someone who can write an updated kernel, or possibly just port a newer version of android to the damn thing.

As for GPS software, Sygic won't plot a course without an internet connection. So I use NavFree USA. Navigon works too, but if the damn thing reboots while its running, Navigon can no longer find its files or install because it cant find an SD card.

Hi I had the same problem with the sd card (internal) I formatted it NTFS . I found its best to wait until the unit is fully booted before enabling the satnav programe otherwise you may have problems 'cant find sd card' also I use a quality micro sd card for the external memory. I found Copilot works excellent on the device. Also I used this updatee.zip

Igo8 Works really well on the ES666

Still have to resolve my GPS speed error, I haven't done much besides one touch roots. Besides, I can't find the charger and the car is parked elsewhere

Dear all

I have this device ES7035 for about four months. I managed to install CWM to it after rooting it (Anybody need help please pm me or ask on this forum, I can give dropbox link). The problem is that after installing CWM5.0, My device was running fine and I managed to get a backup of it in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/2013-03-19.21.19.01 but the problem starts after that. I just checked to make sure this is correct backup ( all *.img files-almost), am restored in CWM. But now when I boot am thrown into FASTBOOT mode. I can enter into CWM5 recovery but factory reset is not working. Please help me out in this situation. Thanks

I gave em a try and only the V2MT would work for me, the other one kept failing.. But then i ran into the screen being bricked, and after may trys i was able to get it working agian. Had to use my stock boot.img and recovery.img to get the touch back, using the supplied lk.rom was messing that all up. But all in all got it back to running state, just got to re-root and re-download my apps, thankfully wasnt much.

As for CWM, still cant get it going
____________Hi wapozzi, Could you please help me out, I also bricked my ES7035. Now making it on goes to Fastboot screen. Please help me, as you have successfully recovered from this. My email [email protected]

Thanks for your rom.
Believe it or not, I also got response from Winmark today, they actually sent me ROM. I also downloaded yours for reference.

For those that are interested:
Download V2MT.rar from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way
Download V2HY.rar from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

For me the V2HY.rar worked. Had to flash it with the FWDN-tool.

After installing I tried to go back to CWM, and got it to work again. For what it's worth how i installed it:
- Go to fastboot (Vol+ + Power)
- fastboot flash recovery cwm???.img
- To get into recovery: Back + power. (First time you'll be staring at a black screen for about a minute before it boots)

On my device shortcuts for recovery etc are:
Recovery: Back + power
FWDN: Home + power
Fastboot: Vol+ + power

Apparently my device also seems to have bluetooth (in this rom). Maybe this could solve the handsfree issues. It's very buggy though. I got it to pair with my phone, however it doesn't connect.

I was just messing, trying to get the JB rom from the Coby Kyros MID7022 to run. Without success. The rom is way to big for our system partition. I removed some of the system apps until it fit, but went straight to fastboot upon rebooting. Reflashed native boot.img using fastboot, and got to the green android guy, no further booting. For now enough messing around. At least now I have a recovery in case there's more roms to try in the future.

Hi, Could you please guide me which FWDN tool you have used. What was the procedure? Also your second upload is not downloading. Could you please give me dropbox link? Thanks

Hi el_jee, I have done the same thing as you did reported in the post above to my ES7035A. i.e., flashed wrong rom. Rebooting goes to the FASTBOOT mode. Seeing your post I flashed the original boot.img in fastboot mode. Now the device is stuck at Green Android Guy. How you have recovered your device from this? Your upload does not work. Thanks

Hi all, Thanks to all members, I was able to restore my ES7035A device to original settings. Now android boots. What I did was that boot into fastboot mode, erase system partition by issuing fastboot command. Now switch off pad and boot to recovery ( If anyone needs pm me, I have both stock and CWM recovery but for this process I have used stock, flashed using fastboot). Earlier copy update.zip from the rar file V2HY.rar uploaded by one of the member on page 74 ( A million thanks to him) into your sdcard. In recovery mode apply this update, zip. Now reboot, you should now boot into android OS. Thanks to all members here for this very useful forum. I have a question also. In my country only sygic is the most effective navigation software. Has anyone succeeded to run sygic on this tablet? Thanks

Hi gpmg,

I cant help with the Steering wheel controls (my van dont have them :-( ! ) But I did manage to get sygic maps 10 working sort of, I used the keygen supplied & booted it up, however the first few times I thought it had crashed because it took so long to initalise (over 10 mins !) my pad is the older slower Dm7022 so it might quicker on the the Dm7033, I found it tediously slow and on occasion I got to my destination before it had fired up !!

Copilot runs much better on my pad, so i've stuck with it but even co pilot dont run as well as it does on my phone.

Thanks again for your help with youtube.

Mark

Hi smkjadoon,

I had to give up on it, when it did run the spoken directions suffered from the igo stutter, I liked the maps but it wasn't reliable enough to use every day like I have to in my work.
The software (pirate) and the keygen were supplied on a micro sd card with the tablet from erising. I'm sorry to say I dropped the dm7022 tablet braking it & can no longer access it. the tiny 2gb micro sd card that the software came on is long gone as I allways use the biggest I can get so I can put all my music / films on it.

If the free sygic gps navigation app in the playstore is no good for you , there are two cheap options in the playstore, if you search "Pakistan offline map" there are two options one for £1.24 & one for £0.61. I hope one might be suitable.

Good luck

Mark

Hi all, I have contacted Winmark to ask that I want the Capacitive Screen Pad for my ES7035A which actually has Resistive one. They told me that the firmware for ES8035 and the circuitry are different so I can not use pad of dm8035 with DM7035. As regards firmware its understoodable but I don't believe about hardware. all of you respected people's comment is required. Besides is there any way to backup the firmware of main unit (Windows ce os). Thanks
