I'm running xp.

Ok. so, go to Zenithink ZT-180 Android Tablet Blog » Blog Archive » Upgrading to 1030 Firmware on Zenithink ZT-180 and find the driver files.

Download and unzip them. Good.

open video on zenithink website. start following tutorial.

I plug the tablet into a USB and I get a USB malfunction error USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED. Ok...I can fix that.

Device Manager>usb controllers>unknown device

Driver>driver details

tells me no driver files are loaded or are required with this device.
Bull.

driver>update driver>install from list>have disk>

find and select unzipped folder containing supposed driver for new firmware.

ERROR the specified location does not contain information about your hardware.

Ok. redownload and unzip into new folder. REPEAT.

Same error.

Unplug everything and try again.

FAIL.

ok. Device Manager>Action>scan for hardware changes

Nothing. reboot. again. nothing.

Google for help. Fail to find anything for windows XP.

Cry.

Beg.

Any ideas?

I checked their toturial. I think you should install the device "USB drivers in the USB drivers folder ". because it can't be recognized as your description.

that was the first thing i tried. Sry. I typed that up really late at night and really frustrated. It wouldn't recognize the *.inf file. So I proceeded to try to manually install it. I am at it again this morning.

This is the part in my post that I meant to mention that part:

"tells me no driver files are loaded or are required with this device.
Bull.
driver>update driver>install from list>have disk>
find and select unzipped folder containing supposed driver for new firmware.
*update* USB drivers in the USB drivers folder
ERROR the specified location does not contain information about your hardware.
Ok. redownload and unzip into new folder. REPEAT."

I've done all of this other stuff because I'm not running Win7 and my 'unknown device' isn't recognized when i go start>mycomputer
It also doesn't work if I go start>controlpanel>add hardware it doesn't offer the choice of 'unknown device' in the harware list.

I have to wait for the little bubble to popup so I can manually install the software. and when I do that, it wouldn't recognize the *.inf file.

I'm sorry if my explanations are confusing.

I'm going to try to install other versions of the firmware.

I don't think you can update with this rom because i see the words "rockchip". on my zt-180 i have a armv6 compatible processor.

if you can download the app "quick system info pro" it will identify the processor you have and then you can search for the proper rom
