Upgrade my OS on my tablet

Hi
I cant't believe that after owning my iconia A500 for over a year that I have not updated my OS. So after many reminders to download the update I do so only to get a message saying that the update is not valid. Can anyone tell me how to upgrade/update my OS? I feel I need to do this before it gets out of hand and I wind up not able to use my apps .

I moved your thread to the Acer A500 forum where some of the A500 guys can find it easier and offer some assistance. I am not familiar with how to trigger an update on the OS for this tablet myself.
