upgrade to honeycomb 3.1

I have unboxed my new motorola xoom (June 2011). I boot it, then I go to "tablet settings" and see that the version is "honeycomb 3.0.1". I click on upgrading in the settings menu and the motorola tells me everything is updated...

Please, can you tell me how to install the most recent version of honeycomb?

you should remain on the version that is appropriate for your tablet. If the automatic tool says is it current, that means that is the latest available that is from the manufacturer. It does not alway mean the latest and greatest, but it is the latest that has been fully tested and guaranteed to work.

Once you get more familiar with the tablet, and the various tools then you should start looking at the custom roms, etc.

I had read quite a bit in forums about xoom being the first to receive the version so I was a bit puzzled, since the update is not really brand new now (e.g. Honeycomb 3.1 (first take): Small changes, missed opportunities | Android Atlas - CNET Reviews). Still, I will be grateful if you could provide a good reference for starting with rooting.
