Video downloads

Can someone explain why if I download a videoclip (mp4) from say Filesonic directly to my Iconia the video won't play but if I download the exact same clip to my PC and move it to my Iconia the video will play perfectly.
Really appreciate know why.

Pretty strange that the same file works one way, and not the other.
Are you sure the Acer tries to download it, instead of streaming it? Maybe the website does not support that?

there is a link to a movie trailer in there that streams perfectly to the Acer using the standard player.

I agree, very strange and only files from Filesonic seem to be impacted.

The file in link provided plays fine - it is almost like Android is unable to download from Filesonic.

Don't know if its the same thing, but....

I've seen this sort of thing while downloading wallpaper images from a specific site. ( Digital Blasphemy 3D Wallpaper: Widescreen, Dual-Screen, Triple-Screen, iPhone4, iPad, Droid, XBox360, PS3, HDTV Backgrounds if I recall correctly.)

It was something to do with another authorization check that happened when you clicked download, that was not supported by the browser, even if you were a member of the site and had already logged in.

Using Opera browser got around that. It was something about the stock browser not being able to handle a certain type of request from the web site.
