Video Files on Android

    I can watch You Tube videos and Netflix movies on my tablet but can't watch videos I import from my computer. What kinds of video files work on Android? Is there a good video player that anyone can recommend?

    The majority of Android tablets can play MP4 video files.

    In Google Play you can find some video players (Dice Player, MX Player) that enable support for playing AVI and MKV video files, but the video playback experience depends on how powerful your tablet's processor is. Especially on older or lower-end tablets, you might run into stuttering video or freezing video issues.

    MP4 files, if created using compatible settings are played using a special acceleration part in the tablet's processor, which makes it possible to even play HD video at great quality.

    Thanks guys. I actually installed the Dice player. Haven't tried it yet.
