Hope this isn't too stupid a question, but i've never even tried to play video from a tablet on any other device via the mini-HDMI port, since I don't have anything with HDMI besides the tablets themselves.
I have a Coby 7036, which, like all the 703X line has no HDMI port, and the manual says exactly zip about video output, so I assume there's no built-in MHL support. I wonder, though, if there's a video player that will detect an HDMI device hooked to the USB port--lots of adapters out there-- and redirect the video output there? I suspect the answer is "if you want to play HDMI video, go buy an HDMI tablet". Am I right?

To use HDMI, you need to buy a tablet that supports HDMI.
