Want to remove battery from tablet

    Samsung SSPV210 Google Android 2.3
    I have a Samsung google android 2.3 8" tablet, S5PV210. It has no power at all. I was told once I may have a bad charger port. I found online one thing I could try is to remove the battery, keep it out for 5 minutes, then put it back. They said to slide the back off the tablet and pull the battery out. I did use a small screwdriver and could separate the back from front but not enough to get hold and slide it off. Am I just wasting my time in trying to do this? I've checked around locally trying to find someone who works on tablets but have been unsuccessful so far. One thing I did notice on my tablet, at first it would charge just fine but now I see that the plug does not go into the port completely as I can see part of the plug and seems it doesn't make contact. Any input from anyone? Thanks.
