Web browser freezing

I've had the Thrive for one week and have only used the default browser so far. I am pretty disappointed in the browser performance. The browser freezes on simple (i.e. non-video) pages way too often. I hit the stop page and refresh page button over and over; sometimes I end up having to power the machine off. I don't think that my internet connection is the issue as I am not experiencing problems on my laptops. Any advice? Is another browser recommended?
