Doug, you have it right. Nooter is just the term used for the process of rooting and can be appliled to manual or autonootering. Autonooter is the term used when the process can be run as a program that takes care of the individual nootering steps you normally have to do manually.

Nowadays it's called a script, but its the same thing as batch file only executed differently.

I'm running CM7 and have the nook app. The app now supports magazines if that makes a difference for you.
