So what is the best security apps should I be looking at for my device
If you feel you need one, there are several free anti-malware apps available on the markets. I'm using Lookout on mine with no apparent performance issues. Another popular one is AVG Antivirus Free.

As far as I know, Android devices do not need antivirus apps. Am I right?

Hm, I'm really surprised Linux-based software is vulnerable to hackers, but thanks for posting the article any way. Now I need to do some further reading.
If you search on malware or antivrus using the forum search box located below "Settings" on any forum page you'll find plenty to read.
Surprised that no one yet has mentioned avast! Mobile Security.
Well, if I used any kind of protection for my Android phone, it would definitely be avast.
Avast received very good ratings and, like Lookout, it also has an anti-theft feature.
