Which Tablet? RK3066 vs OMAP4460

Hey guys, been reading around this great forum for a few hours and decided to register.

Looking to purchase a dual core tablet under £150

Which processor is better? the Rockchip RK3066 or OMAP 4460?

Looking for speed and perfomance in browsing the web and watching videos.

Hello there,

The RK3066 is a nice SoC has a few wifi issues, but most are worked out!

The OMAP 4460 is decent and fairly reliable however the GPU lacks vs the RK3066 and its ramdac is off a little bit.

Both are great chips, the RK3066 can run at 1.67ghz without issue and dish it out, its price point is usually cheaper too

In terms of performance which one will be better? I need one for watching videos and browsing the web, and one more for general web browsing.

I know some of these have lagging software but I'm planning on rooting and installing a custom rom if the RK3066 is truly superior. If I do go down that route which of the above have the most support for custom firmware and roms? I'll probably just purchase from aliexpress or summat.

Hmm the window n70 has good reviews but its really up to you heck the ainol elf 2 works great for that too

does the N70 have the best custom rom support from the list?

I have checked out reviews but they all seem to be based off the stock software which generally isn't very good for these tablets. root and customising improves them significantly.

I have the Cube U30GT-H only get the 'H' model in the Cube or you will be sorry, Window N101 is the same as the Cube. Also i watch video on my tablet without any problems WiFi is also good there are many good tablets on the market it all depends on you.

I was thinking of getting the cube too.

What's wrong with the W model of the U30GT? Is it because it is the first generation model that the manufacturer ditched for the H model?

The Rockchip & Amlogic A9's are the only ones that have really been successful so far. The Amlogic has heat issues running at more than 1.2. The Rockchip seems to do fine at 1.5. But it's not always about who's fastest. It's about who has the most chips out there that are doing the job well. Who has done the best job of proving themselves in the real world. So far, the winner is Rockchip. That's why I'm shopping for a Pipo M3.
