Wi-Fi Icon missing

I don't know what happenned but my tablet using Android 2.3 cannot access the internet and the icon is now missing. It worked perfectly before and I don't know what I could have done to cause this problem
Any ideas?

Is Wifi turned off by any chance? Go to Settings -> Wireless and network and chech the WiFi status.

If that is all fine, try rebooting the tablet.
