Wi Fi shuts off and won't turn back on

If I leave my tablet in sleep mode for a prolonged period of time, the wi-fi turns off and won't turn on unless I reboot the system. I tried a program called wi-fi fixer which hasn't helped. It's pretty annoying. Any ideas?

In settings there is an option to leave WiFi on while sleeping, set it to always. Then install an app called Auto Airplane Mode, (by DON) from the Google Store. No need to change the settings other than to make certain load when boot is checked which should be the default. I don't think WiFi Fixer is a "fix" but this method should work.
