WiFi+3G

I broke my galaxy note and I decided to go bigger so I got the Samsung 2 7"with phone capability and unlocked so I can use it when I travel as well. When you see somebody walking around talking into a a big big phone, that's me :-D
I'm going to pop in the t mobile card I was using with my note but I understand that I can only make calls and send man but not use the 3g connection for internet? To use the internet I have to connect to wifi?

Well, this happens with me most of the time whenever I make or receive calls people give me a look like !! They just say that "This phone is just big, how do you use to work with it"
