Just when you think you have the latest and greatest...... I see there's a new Wifi standard in development. 802.11ac is supposed to be many times faster than 802.11n at 1300mbps. Some manufacturers, including Asus are even selling pre standard 802.11ac routers. So, does this mean a whole new tablet will be required to upgrade or might there be a flash update for existing modems in our future?

    Cheers

Yes, there is a new standard, but it is still going to be backwards compatible through N, G and B. in order for your tablet to work with the faster speeds you will need a new radio (new tablet most likely)

I would not fret too much since any wifi over the last decade is interoperable (except 802.11A)
