I have a Cobalt S 1000 10 inch tablet. The wifi says it's connected but not in range. Thus I cannot use the browser to be able to acquire apps and really use the tablet to the max. How do I fix this? Do I need a hot spot or tether from my hpone to make wifi work?

Welcome to the forum

Over 50% of the WiFi problems like yours can be traced to an issue communicating with your WiFi. I'm assuming, based on your description, that you can't do anything on line. Had you every been able to get connected? If not, you may want to try a friends connection or a public hotspot

I have a few things for you to try. Start by restarting your router, also you could try changing the channel on the router. Try a long press on the connection in WiFi under settings and tell it to forget, then try reconnecting. Also you might want to try restarting your tablet, not just a normal sleep. Most tablets will restart by holding the power button for an extended period of time.
