Wifi module question

Hello everyone,

Got a general question about android tablets.

1) Generally do the tablets have a dedicated wifi module that could be removed or is it built on to the board?
2) if it varies according to model is there anyway that I could tell without taking it apart?

I know most cheaper brands have it on pcb but not sure about high end tabs. Constantinevamp has a thread on wondermedia based tabs page where he fitted an old laptop wi.fi into a wm8650 tablet. You may want to check it out...its titled aptly. Not for the faint hearted.
