wifi signal from my sky router falls away as soon as I move away from router

Hi I have NATPC 10.2 tablet and I am getting very poor reception when moving away from my computer which is wired in to my router,I can not pick up a signal 10 mts away with my tablet,any help would be most welcome as I am a new user,ellise
