Y-1008 - how to perform Android 2.1 factory reset?

Hey there!

A friend of mine has this tablet (it's some Chinese manufacturer), and she happened to screw it up with some GUI element update. So now the whole opeating system doesn't work, giving me some error:

"The application ADW.Launcher (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexecptedly. Please try again"

No matter what i click, it comes again on the screen.

So can anyone tell me how can i perform an update to this device? I don't seem to find any manual or tutorial for this device. It should be the same device as Zenithink ZT-180. I found some tutorials, but the firmware upgrade installer only works on 32-bit Windows! How can i install it with 64-bit Windows as i have this one?

Also, looks like i'd how to do it through my phone as the microUSB-USB cable doesn't seem to work (computer doesn't detect the tablet device), but my phone's Sony Ericsson proprietary-to-USB cable works.

So some hard factory reset (format) guide would be great!

Welcome! That tablet shows "CPU ARM Cortex-A8" which is different than infoTMIC so not sure the reset methods would apply.
