yahoo and facebook apps

Hi there -I'm new to this so please bear with me if I'm asking a dumb question.... I've got a new generic android tablet 7" MID 256 Mb and Android 2.2

So I now want to load some apps, and android market doesn't seem to have options for facebook and yahoo messenger, which I particularly would like to use... I go to the Yahoo site and facebook and they have download android apps available, but when I try to load them they won't work unless I supply a mobile number for an Android phone (which I don't have being stuck with a windows mobile device)

which apps should I downlaod and where can I get them

would really appreciate some help here

you need the apks (read up on what is called sideloading). I don't have the yahoo apk, but here is a link for facebook: Facebook 1.5.2.apk
