Youtube problem: not loading videos

I've seen and experienced the common problem of the Android Youtube app auto-closing requiring the user to clear cache and try again. That's not what this is...

This morning I discovered that the Youtube app is not loading data. It was working flawlessly yesterday, and the only thing I had done with my device (rooted 1.0.1) since then is use the B&N ereader app.

I tried the following things:
- clear cache
- clear app data with and without logging in afterward
- uninstall and reinstall from APK

I have verified that the Android Youtube app on my phone works with the same hotspot (ie. app related, not network connectivity related).

I'm definitely at a loss. Any suggestions?

Strange...I tried again this morning and the Youtube app worked. Perhaps there was some connectivity issue somewhere along the way that didn't effect my phone connected to wifi (?!). Bleh.
