You need an micro sd card and an original firmware. Put the original firmware on the root of micro sd card(you will have a folder dload withe the firmware inside), now with your tablet off put the micro sd card on the tablet an then press power. Update will start automatically.

You can restore your tablet to original state using an sdcard and original 2.2.2 software.

If you use the right values on the kernel then is no problem I have use a modified sysyem partition on my old galaxy s and no problems. First time when you boot the new kernel it will repartition and wil bootloop so you need to pull out battery. Then you need to flash again kernel and system...
