    failure to boot properly

If you can't take it back to the store for a refund or exchange, you might want to do a factory reset. This thread explains the process. http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/craig-tablets/12139-how-prepare-cmp738a-factory-reset-firmware-update.html

[kitchen] Linux script to repack cmp738a 2.2 ROM with root

Wow. Lots of good work. Thanks! To improve the looks of the home page I would suggest Zeam. Google the terms XDA and ZEAM to find the developer thread. Works good for me even running the non-rooted 2.2 Rom. There are folks over on slatedroid working on the market issue.

    Craig CMP 738a Information

Sorry yours had a problem. My wifi was a littl flaky at first, but since a switch to ch. 6, it's doing fine at home :) EDIT: After using the Wifi for a few more days, it still seems to work fine with my el cheapo 802.11g router at home and free wifi spots like Starbucks. At work, they...

Good advice. I downloaded the apk from xda dev and installed perfectly. Much better. :)

    Craig Firmware update now available

Ding ... I think the 4.2 Rom is faster for me too. Wonder if the JIT is turned off in this new version from Craig?

These cheap plastic screens really scuff up

Yeah, a screen protector wouldnt hurt either. I keep meaning to buy one, but haven't done it yet. I am guessing that ones for the nook color would fit?

These cheap plastic screens really scuff up

Mine is still as smooth as when I bought almost three weeks ago. Been using it alot too. But mainly using the stylus rather than my finger or finger nail.

    Craig CMP 738a Information

Downloaded and flashed the "official" Craig 2.2 last night. Based on my very limited usage so far: Pros: - Craig actually provided an "official" 2.2 ROM. Good job! (Something not too many lower-end vendors have done.) - I had an issue with connecting to a Cisco wireless access point under...

    Craig Firmware update now available

Craig hasn't posted the 2.2 firmware yet (at least the last time I checked which was yesterday). If you really need 2.2 now, Shad did release a "beta" Froyo 2.2. ROM for the Craig. He wasn't able to develop it much, before his Craig flash memory died. I've tried the beta ROM and most...

[ROM] 'honeycomb' for craig cmp 738a (tweaks, wallpaper, power rooted apps)

I've been playing with the tools and there are some really good ones there. Thanks for taking the time to assemble them. On the Cpuboost, I'm not sure I have it figured out, but I've been using Caffiene mark to test when its working. Any idea how high I can clock this thing?

    Coby Kyros MID8024-4G on HSN

I am definitely looking at a 2G Coby, mainly because Tipstir says the 1G was so good. Don't know about the 8" screen though. I think I would prefer a higher res 7".

[ROM] 'honeycomb' for craig cmp 738a (tweaks, wallpaper, power rooted apps)

Tipstit, the power pack is very cool. Thanks for providing it. One question - does the Flash player run on the Cmp738a? At all? Does it require the Froyo ROM? Doesn't seem to run on 4.2 eclair, but it did install OK. Thanks!

    Craig CMP 738a Information

Thanks for the tips! I found a $3 easel in the "arts and crafts" section of a Wal-mart. They had wooden ones and metal ones. I went with wood, because it was cheaper. (Wish more of these cheaper tablets would have the built-in tilt stand. One of few I've seen with one is the Wits 81E/G.)...

Couple of good youtube videos on Craig CMP 738a

Good to know on the Coby. The Telechips CPU is speced a bit higher than the Rockchip 2818, so that makes sense. I haven't played with one myself, but I've seen them in stores here. I was quite tempted to buy that eLocity A7 from shopnbc.com last month, but it seems the capacitive multitouch...

Craig Electronics Inc - EPAD (CMP 738A) with Android OS 2.2 and Flash 8

Did you try Shad's Froyo (Android 2.2) ROM? I haven't flashed it yet, but he did one Froyo version that still had a few bugs, from what I gather. I'll probably give it a try soon, just to say I gave it a spin. Start EDIT On future Flash compatibility, I saw on another forum that somebody...
