Hi, Grew, thank you for your nice comment - much appreciated! :)
I haven't logged in to this site in a while, but such a nice post deserved a reply.
Glad you enjoyed the tutorial, I wrote it with information I had to discover myself, in order to install on my own tablet. I think it's a good...
Waiting for Black Friday, for those in the USA, is a good idea, there's a lot of deals coming. The flyers are already leaking out, and some of the deals are very good.
This past week, someone posted a Deal-a-Day offer that was VERY good - a Samsung Galaxy 10.1" tablet, refurbished, for $169, I...
Good post, glad you agree that the price is not right for this model.
It's a good entry level tablet, it just needs to be cheaper.
If you look at post #10, I did a search at Walmart.com, which has a really good Search tool. Setting it by price range ($150 to 200) and screen size (9" and up)...
Some incredible deals, for sure. The Asus Transformer, for $279...
Hope we can get some offers from Canadian Retailers for this weekened as well - they know people will drive over the border for these offers.
Thanks dgstorm. :)
I have noticed the same too - we bought a 15" Acer laptop for my wife in early September, special web deal at $300 CAD, and I was amazed how much she got for that money.
And as CrashTest said :
Yep, I read that in a similar fashion too, indeed the cheapest version upgrade ever for a...
Good points raised by everyone. :)
I also found the 7" smallish, back when I was looking to purchase my first tablet. The Playbook I saw on the store and played with briefly lost to the 9.7" screen in then Unknown Le Pan 1.
But I have noticed some more experienced users gravitating to the 7"...
This is quite interesting. If parts manufacturers focus on the 7" models, there will be less choices (and stock) of the 9.7"/10.1" class devices.
Have been intrigued by the low priced, high quality Android (and Playbook) 7" devices now under $200.
Great article, thanks dgstorm.
Apple's share price has dropped from the 700 dollar range it was at recently too. A lot of interesting numbers in this report.
The campaign is still on - the Le Pan 1 is not worth the current price, but if they dropped it to a more realistic level, it could be considered for a new tablet user.
Add a Gingerbread op system to it, and you have a fine little device; the whole question is a fair price in today's market.
Oh, my! $130, even lower, great deal.
With the Nexus 7 16 GB now selling for USD$199 (or CAD$209 in Canada), they might have to drop their prices even lower. Like the weekend sale you got.
Thanks for mentioning it! Will keep an eye on the sales.
Here's a screenshot of current Futureshop.ca...
LOL, that's for sure. :p
They will need to sort out the Android squad from the iOS loyalists before packing everyone in the same room. :)

A friend just posted this in another forum - and I think it's worth spreading the news :
