But is this Netflix HD on the Nook Color? If so it throws a whole new light on things. In any event, the team on XDA Developers is still dissecting the mysteries of the NT, and making some progress. It's just unfortunate that the early negative posts about the NT's rootability (on XDA) may have...
I definitely agree with your last point, sjbenes, but IMO B&N will not remove the locked bootloader. One of the thoughts out there is that this was implemented so that B&N could offer Netflix HD on the NT, which no one else can offer in this price range. Assumption is that B&N went to a locked...
Make it 4. I've had one since the day before the "official" release (my B&N like others had it available that previous day). Had it rooted as soon as Indirect figured out how (on XDA Developers forum). I did a lot of research before getting one and I'm also happy with the device. I think part of...
Right. That's the problem. Not compatible with the Nook tablet. Don't know why as I had a direct link to a previous version of GE (which was also listed as not compatible on Market) and it works fine.
Desertrat, please post a pic from like Root Explorer or something other app which will show the partitions and size of each. Did you get a good look at what the B&N tech did?
CL, I see you already have a Color running CM7. So I assume you already know the NT has been rooted. Is there something beyond what a rooted tablet will bring you that you are looking for?
One tip that may not be clear from DSSTrainer's posts. At least on Win7 x64, do not plug the NT in via USB before doing the runmefirst step. If you do it will load defualt drivers that for some reason (on my system) messed things up. Fortunately for me I had a recent automatic Restore point, so...
Ladies and Gentlemen, I can confirm that this works like a charm from my Win7 x64 system. Read through the xda thread, but pay close attention especially to DSSTrainer's note here

Great news Paul. I too was looking at the A1 but decided to go with the Nook Tablet. I'd like to get your impressions with the A1 as a reader and how well it does streaming like from Netflix or Amazon Prime. In both of these areas the NT is tremendous.
Also, how is the camera quality? (the one...
I was thinking of giving it a try, but right now it still sounds a little tweaky. I know I could just do a factory restore if I mess up, but maybe I'll wait for a slightly more polished approach with a few successes in front of me.
Damn. And everybody was thinking the Fire was going to be harder to open up. It looks like Amazon just gave they keys away on that one while B&N pulled back from their previous products.
Does this also mean that it wil be harder to get a CM7/CM9 load on a mirco SD to work as an alternate OS?
Well, some good points are raised in favor of the Fire. I like the Tablet but I bought it based on factors that for me made it worth it. What troubles me about the NT is that it seems, unlike Amazon, B&N has not yet released the source code. This will put a damper on full blown development. It...
