Android 2.0 Apps

I am new to tablets and new to this forum, so please forgive me if I am asking questions already answered. I bought a Cruz Tablet T301. It's a great e-reader. I tried to download 5 different apps, but only one installed on my Cruz, which uses Android 2.0. I'm guessing that the other apps require a newer Android release. How do I tell if an app is designed for the 2.0 or requires something else? Is there a list of apps that will work on Android 2.0? Thanks for your help!
