Dear all,
I finally got an Android Tablet,
and decided to join the forum to get the best out of it"!
and meet other "androiders"!
I have to be honest, after the few enthusiasm,
I got stuck in an "and now?" mood.
So with my first post other than saying hello to all of you,
I'd like to ask what according to you are the first things
to do to have a proper working tablet and enjoy it.

I'm interested in any advice you might want to give to me:
"must-have" apps, "must-do" hacks, best rom, rooting
and whatever use it might come to your mind.
Also links to find more information would be a lot of help!

For the moment I'd like to be happy to have a fast device to browse internet,
read email, play avi videos, mp3 and read pdf and epub.
Just to have a functional item to start with (but I hope I'll do much more
with it!)

Just in case you want to know I have a Telechip X6D with Android 2.1 update 1 installed.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help :)
Cheers, -Luca

First welcome to the forum! Be sure to read through the Telechips forums for specific details, but before people can give you a ton of specific advice, what do you see yourself using the tablet for? Web surfing? Email? Multimedia? E-reader? Answer these questions and it will help others recommend apps for you.

Good luck!

Hi P,
thanks for the welcome.
As I told for the moment I just want an item I can use daily for things like
Surfing (which would be the best browser?)
Mp3 (the default program seems fine to me)
Avi can't read them at the moment,
PDF (the adobe reader works, but it doesn't seem thought for a tablet according to me.. sometimes documents are hard to read)
epub (the kindle software seems to work grand)

I also would like to gain Wifi Access under a proxy, a setting that seems to be missing by default.

Also as I'm not aware why and when a tablet might come handy, any suggestions of use
would be appreciated :)

Thanks again for your answer,
Cheers, -Luca

you might want to check out logmein - available from the market or their website, gives you the ability to connect from your tablet to your pc when you are not there.
